GENERAL INFORMATION
- Basic
Research
Many areas of Basic Science related to inflammatory and immune mechanisms
are under investigation by members of the Division.
Clinical research in rheumatic and autoimmune
diseases include
social studies, epidemiologic analyses, and therapeutic trials of diverse
rheumatic diseases.
- Patient Care
Patients are seen in our specialized outpatient clinic at the
University of Connecticut Health Center.
- Fibromyalgia Clinic - is run by Micha Abeles,
MD.
- Lupus Clinic - Naomi F. Rothfield, MD, and Ann L. Parke,
MD, run this clinic with an emphasis on
women's health including pregnancy, post-partum care, and
management of post-menopausal patients with Lupus.
- Scleroderma Clinic - Naomi F.
Rothfield, MD sees patients with Scleroderma
every Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The second Friday of every month, a
Scleroderma
support group meets with patients in the clinic's outpatient area to share
booklets and information about the disease and support group meetings.

- Fellowship Program
The Division of Rheumatology has a fellowship training
program with openings for 1 or 2 fellows per year. For information about interviews please
